When this homeowner in Uniontown, Pennsylvania saw his basement floor crumbling and breaking down, he thought his only option was to remove and replace the concrete. At an estimated $25,000, that solution felt extreme but necessary. Like many older basements south of Pittsburgh, years of moisture had left the concrete dusty, uneven, and worn out.
The reality was much simpler. The concrete could be repaired and coated for a fraction of the cost.

After properly diamond grinding the floor, we sealed the concrete with a pigmented polyaspartic base coat to block moisture. Decorative flakes were then broadcast to add texture and improve slip resistance. A high-gloss polyaspartic top coat was applied to protect the surface and create a bright, finished look.
The finished basement floor is now smooth and easy to maintain. Polyaspartic coatings cure fast, resist moisture, and hold up extremely well in Uniontown and Pittsburgh-area basements. What once looked like a major demolition project turned into a cost-effective upgrade that transformed the space.
